Composition

Luxury vinyl plank (LVP) or tile (LVT) is composed of compressed layers of PVC. There is the backing layer that goes on the subfloor. It is usually 20 millimeters thick. Then the design layer, with the image of what you want, is 8 millimeters to 20 millimeters thick. Then there is the surface layer that protects the design layer from scratches, stains, and scuffs. The LVP and LVT are usually put down with a click-together system that seals the subfloor from the top.
